We built Whipshipper because we hauled cars ourselves

Whipshipper was started by people who actually drove the trucks. Byron and his crew (Shelly at the front desk, Ray in the Northeast, James down South, Mike in the Midwest, Doug out West) spent years on the road. We know what carriers respect and what customers hate.

What customers hate is the bait and switch. Get a low quote, hand over a card, then the carrier wants more money or never shows up. That is why every Whipshipper rate is real, why the deposit is $99 and that is it until the truck rolls up to your driveway.

What carriers respect is on time payment and accurate load info. That is why our drivers actually show up. We do not lowball them, we do not lie about the route, and we settle fast. The result for customers is reliable pickup and a price that does not move.

8 things we do differently

Pick any one and ask another broker if they do the same.

1

TruePrice locked at booking

The number on your quote is the number you pay. If we misjudged the carrier rate, we eat the difference, not you.

2

$99 deposit, that is it

$99 locks your rate and books your carrier. The balance is paid to the driver on delivery. No surprise charges to your card.

3

Real humans answer the phone

Shelly answers at the front desk, seven days a week. You get a person, not a chatbot, not a ticket queue.

4

We text you when the truck rolls

Driver assigned, driver one day out, driver one hour out. Live updates by text. Not a portal you have to log into.

5

Live GPS, not vague tracking

Track the actual truck on a map. Driver name and phone in your shipment portal. You always know where your car is.

6

FMCSA verified carriers only

Every carrier we dispatch has a current FMCSA license and active cargo insurance. We verify before assignment, every time.

7

Routes our crew actually knows

Ray runs the Northeast, James runs the South, Mike runs the Midwest, Doug runs the West. Real route knowledge, not a map plugin.

8

If we mess up, we eat it

Wrong carrier rate, missed pickup window, claim hassles. We own the outcome. Not your problem, our problem.

What customers actually tell us

Price did not change

The most common compliment. The quote was the price was the payment, no surprises.

Driver called the day before

24 hour notice is standard. Customers tell us they were never left guessing.

Shelly is a saint

We hear this a lot. She answers the phone, knows your shipment, and gets answers fast.

Easier than expected

Most first time customers brace for chaos and get a calm shipment instead.

Recommended to family

Customers come back for second cars and refer parents, kids, and coworkers.

Tracking actually worked

Live GPS plus driver phone means customers always know what is happening.

Our mission

Auto transport has been broken for a long time. The big names race each other on Google Ads, win the click with a fake low quote, then change the price after the customer hands over a card. The carriers know it, the customers know it, the regulators know it.

Whipshipper is the alternative. Real price, real people, real carriers. $99 to lock the rate, the rest on delivery. Built by truckers, run for customers. That is the whole pitch.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the deposit only $99?

$99 locks your rate and books a carrier. The rest is paid to the driver on delivery so you are never out money before your car arrives.

What is TruePrice?

TruePrice means the quote is the price. If we misjudge the carrier rate, we cover the difference, not you.

Are you a broker or carrier?

We are an FMCSA licensed broker. We dispatch vetted carriers to physically move your vehicle.

Who answers the phone?

Shelly at the front desk Monday through Sunday. After hours you get a callback within the same day.

Do you actually have route experts?

Yes, Ray runs the Northeast, James runs the South, Mike runs the Midwest, Doug runs the West. Real route knowledge baked into our dispatch.

What if my price changes?

It does not. TruePrice means locked. If the carrier rate moves, we absorb it, you pay the original quote.

How are you different from Montway or Roadrunner?

Smaller deposit, locked price, real humans on the phone, route experts who actually drove the routes. Bigger brokers run sales floors, we run dispatch.

How many carriers do you have?

Our network connects to thousands of FMCSA carriers nationwide through the live load board. We pick the right truck for your route every time.

What if there is damage?

Note it at delivery, photograph it, call us. We open the claim with the carrier's insurance and ride it to resolution.

Do you ship enclosed?

Yes, enclosed transport is available for high value, exotic, and classic vehicles. Mention it at quote time.

What states do you cover?

All 48 mainland states plus Hawaii and Alaska through port and ferry partners.

Why should I trust a smaller broker?

Smaller broker means you get the owner on the phone. Big brokers route you to call centers. We respond faster and care more.

Every auto transport service we run

Auto transport is not one product. A dealer moving forty units off an auction lane, a collector shipping a numbers matching car across the country, and a family sending one sedan ahead of a move are three different jobs that happen to use the same highways. They need different trailers, different insurance limits, different loading equipment, and different scheduling. Quoting all three the same way is how customers end up with a truck that cannot legally carry their vehicle. Pick the line below that matches what you are actually moving, and the quote comes back against the right equipment the first time.

By transport type

By vehicle

By who is shipping

Not sure which one fits? Call (888) 780-6207 and describe the vehicle and the route. A dispatcher will tell you which equipment it needs and what the lane is running, or start with an instant quote and adjust from there.

Read before you book

Most complaints in this industry trace back to something the customer was never told: that the first quote was a placeholder, that the broker on the phone is not the company driving the truck, or that personal items in the trunk are not covered by cargo insurance. None of that is complicated once somebody explains it. These are the explainers we send customers before they book, written to be useful whether or not you ship with us.
