Luxury cars deserve luxury trucks.

A new Porsche 911 GT3 has a front lip that scrapes on a steep driveway. Putting it on a 9 car open trailer means ramp angles that gouge that lip, rocks from the truck ahead chipping the paint, and rain spotting clear coat that just got polished. None of that happens in an enclosed trailer with a lift gate.

We dispatch carriers who do nothing but high value cars. They use soft straps over the tires, never over the suspension. They wear cotton gloves. They photograph every panel before loading. They know which trailers have hydraulic lift gates and which ones have ramps, and they pick the right one for your car.

Whether you bought a Bentley at Pebble Beach, you are taking delivery of an Aston from a dealer in Greenwich, or you are sending an AMG to a buyer in Miami, we route enclosed by default and quote open only on request.

Why luxury owners use Whipshipper

We do not run discount carriers on six figure cars.

1

Enclosed by default

Every luxury quote routes enclosed first. Open is available on request, but we tell you why we recommend against it.

2

Lift gate loading

Hydraulic lift gates, not ramps. Zero angle on the front lip, zero risk to splitter and chin spoiler.

3

Soft straps over the tires

Never over the suspension, never frame straps, never anything that can mark your wheel wells.

4

Two car or solo trailer

Two car enclosed for cost, solo for true white glove. Both are dedicated luxury carriers, not mixed loads.

5

Climate control available

For long hauls in summer or winter, climate control keeps leather, electronics, and fluids in spec.

6

Insurance to value

Standard carrier policies cover up to $250,000. For higher values, we line up high limit policies before pickup.

Solo vs two car enclosed

Both protect the car. Pick based on budget and priority.

Solo enclosed

  • One car per trailer, dedicated dispatch
  • Lift gate loading, climate control standard
  • Direct lane, no detours, fastest transit
  • Best for $200k plus cars and collector vehicles
  • Recommended for show cars heading to events
  • Premium pricing, books out 1 to 2 weeks

Two car enclosed

  • Two cars, dedicated luxury carrier
  • Lift gate or ramp, soft tie down
  • Some lane sharing, slightly longer transit
  • Best for luxury daily drivers and recent purchases
  • Recommended for $50k to $200k cars
  • Mid premium pricing, books out 3 to 7 days

Prep your luxury car

Standard prep plus a few luxury specific items.

Quarter tank of fuel

Carrier rule. Less weight, less risk. Top off after delivery at the station you trust.

Disable the auto trunk

Some cars have proximity trunks that open during loading. Turn it off in settings.

Set ride height to high

If your car has air suspension or magnetic ride, set the highest setting for loading. Driver knows what to do.

Pull aftermarket plates

Front and rear plate frames sometimes catch on tie down points. Remove before pickup if practical.

Cover the interior

Most carriers bring soft covers. If yours is bespoke, supply the cover and the carrier will use it.

Photograph every angle

Time stamped photos including wheels, splitter, mirrors, roof, inside. Carrier does the same at pickup.

Luxury volume by the numbers

Real volume, real protection.

Frequently asked questions

Do you ship luxury cars on open trailers?

We can, but we do not recommend it. Open trailers expose six figure paint to rocks, weather, and ramp angles. Enclosed is the right call.

What does enclosed transport include?

Hard side or soft side enclosed trailer, soft tie downs over the tires, lift gate or low angle ramp, and on most luxury runs, climate control.

How much does luxury car shipping cost?

Enclosed ranges from $800 short haul to over $3,000 coast to coast. Solo dedicated runs higher than two car shared.

Is the insurance enough for my car?

Standard policies cover up to $250,000. For higher values, we line up high limit cargo insurance before dispatch, certificate to you before pickup.

Can you ship from Pebble Beach or auction events?

Yes. We dispatch carriers to and from Pebble Beach, Amelia Island, Scottsdale auctions, and major collector events. Book early, lanes fill up.

What if my car has a front splitter or low ride height?

Lift gate loading. No ramp angle. Driver knows how to load low cars without scraping. Tell us during quoting.

Can I track the car in real time?

Yes. Live GPS in your dashboard, plus driver calls 2 hours before pickup and 2 hours before drop off.

Can you ship to a private storage facility?

Yes. We deliver to private garages, climate controlled storage facilities, and high security collector storage on request.

Do you cover EV luxury like Taycan or Lucid?

Yes. Battery percentage 30 to 70 at pickup, enclosed, soft tie, lift gate. We move them every week.

How far in advance should I book?

Solo enclosed: 1 to 2 weeks. Two car enclosed: 3 to 7 days. Show events and auction weeks: book 30 days out.

Every auto transport service we run

Auto transport is not one product. A dealer moving forty units off an auction lane, a collector shipping a numbers matching car across the country, and a family sending one sedan ahead of a move are three different jobs that happen to use the same highways. They need different trailers, different insurance limits, different loading equipment, and different scheduling. Quoting all three the same way is how customers end up with a truck that cannot legally carry their vehicle. Pick the line below that matches what you are actually moving, and the quote comes back against the right equipment the first time.

By transport type

By vehicle

By who is shipping

Not sure which one fits? Call (888) 780-6207 and describe the vehicle and the route. A dispatcher will tell you which equipment it needs and what the lane is running, or start with an instant quote and adjust from there.

Read before you book

Most complaints in this industry trace back to something the customer was never told: that the first quote was a placeholder, that the broker on the phone is not the company driving the truck, or that personal items in the trunk are not covered by cargo insurance. None of that is complicated once somebody explains it. These are the explainers we send customers before they book, written to be useful whether or not you ship with us.
