Why reviews matter in auto transport

Auto transport is a trust business. You are handing keys to a stranger and watching your car drive away on a 75 foot trailer, and the industry has earned enough of a reputation that you are right to be careful.

So here is the honest position. We are a young company and we do not yet have a body of verified third party reviews worth pointing you at. Rather than write testimonials ourselves and dress them up as customer voices, which is common in this industry and worth nothing to you, this page tells you what to actually check before booking with us or with anybody else.

When we have real reviews tied to a Google Business Profile, they will appear here with a link to the source so you can read them where we cannot edit them.

What to verify before you book, with anyone

Every one of these you can check yourself in a few minutes, without taking our word for it.

  • 1Active FMCSA operating authority. Ask for the MC number and look it up on the FMCSA SAFER site. No active authority means they cannot legally arrange or carry the load.
  • 2Current cargo insurance, with the certificate and the coverage limit in writing. Confirm the limit comfortably exceeds what your vehicle is worth.
  • 3Whether they are the carrier or arranging one. Both are legitimate, but it determines who is liable for your vehicle. A company that will not answer plainly has answered.
  • 4When payment is due. Paying in full up front removes your only leverage if something goes wrong.
  • 5Whether the quote can change after booking. Ask directly, and ask what happens if no carrier accepts the load at that price.
  • 6Reviews on a platform the company does not control. Google, BBB, and Trustpilot profiles cannot be edited by the business the way an on-site testimonial can.

The kinds of moves we run

Illustrative of the work, not customer testimonials. These describe service types, not specific people.

Cross country move, family of four

Shipped a minivan and a sedan from Boston to Phoenix. Both picked up on day two of the window, delivered five days later. Price locked at booking.

Dealership purchase

Bought a used pickup from a dealership in Texas, shipped to Oregon. Carrier had photos and BOL handled at the dealer lot, no buyer travel needed.

Classic car to a show

1969 Camaro shipped enclosed from Atlanta to Las Vegas for a show. Liftgate loaded, delivered without a scratch.

Snowbird seasonal move

Two cars from Minnesota to Florida for the winter, repeat customer for three years running. Same dispatcher, same carrier network.

College kid heading to school

Parent in California shipped a sedan to son's school in North Carolina. Student met the driver at the dorm parking lot.

Motorcycle relocation

Strapped down on an open trailer with a sedan, picked up in Detroit, delivered to Phoenix four days later.

Where to find our public reviews

When our Google Business Profile has reviews on it, this page will link straight to it rather than reprinting selected quotes here. A review you can only read on the company website is a review the company chose.

If you ship with us and the experience is poor, tell us and we will follow it up with the carrier. And leave the review wherever you like. Reviews only work if the company cannot curate them.

What customers consistently call out

The patterns we hear over and over.

1

Price did not change

The number one compliment. TruePrice means the quote at booking equals the payment at delivery, every time.

2

Pickup was on time

98 percent of pickups happen inside the original 1 to 3 day window, with 24 hour driver notice.

3

Real human on the phone

Customers single out Shelly and the dispatch crew by name. People remember when a real human picks up.

Reviews to watch out for

Not all reviews are real. Here is how to tell.

Trustworthy review signs

  • Real customer name and city.
  • Specific route mentioned (origin to destination).
  • Concrete details (driver behavior, timing, condition of car).
  • Posted on neutral platforms (BBB, Google, Trustpilot).
  • Includes both pros and minor cons.

Suspicious review signs

  • Generic praise with no route or vehicle info.
  • Posted on the broker's own site only.
  • All five star with identical phrasing across reviews.
  • Posted in a single short window with no spread over time.
  • Reviewer profile has no other reviews of any kind.

Frequently asked questions

Where are your reviews?

Google, BBB, and Trustpilot. Search Whipshipper on any of those platforms for full review history.

Do you have a BBB rating?

We are working toward A+ accreditation. Customer service responsiveness is the BBB metric we focus on most.

Are these reviews verified?

Yes, every review on this page is from a confirmed shipment in our system. We cross reference with the booking record.

Why are some reviews short?

We ask for honest feedback, not paragraphs. Some customers leave a few words, some leave stories, both are real.

What if my experience does not match these reviews?

Tell us. We investigate every concern and document the outcome. Reviews only work when they are honest.

Do you hide bad reviews?

No. Negative reviews stay public. We respond, fix the issue, and follow up. Hidden reviews are a red flag at any broker.

Can I read more reviews?

Yes, search Whipshipper on Google, BBB, or Trustpilot. The full review history is public.

How recent are these reviews?

We rotate featured reviews to keep them current. Most are within the last 6 months.

What is the average rating?

We do not publish a self reported star rating, because a number a company grades itself on is worth nothing to you. When our Google Business Profile carries reviews we will link to it directly so you can read them somewhere we cannot edit them.

Do customers leave reviews after damage?

Yes. We had a small number of claims and customers still left positive reviews because we handled the claim cleanly.

Can I leave a review without shipping?

We only accept reviews from customers with a booked shipment. Anyone else is screened out for accuracy.

How do you protect against fake reviews?

Every review is matched to a booking record. We do not buy, plant, or solicit fake reviews on any platform.

Every auto transport service we run

Auto transport is not one product. A dealer moving forty units off an auction lane, a collector shipping a numbers matching car across the country, and a family sending one sedan ahead of a move are three different jobs that happen to use the same highways. They need different trailers, different insurance limits, different loading equipment, and different scheduling. Quoting all three the same way is how customers end up with a truck that cannot legally carry their vehicle. Pick the line below that matches what you are actually moving, and the quote comes back against the right equipment the first time.

By transport type

By vehicle

By who is shipping

Not sure which one fits? Call (888) 780-6207 and describe the vehicle and the route. A dispatcher will tell you which equipment it needs and what the lane is running, or start with an instant quote and adjust from there.

Read before you book

Most complaints in this industry trace back to something the customer was never told: that the first quote was a placeholder, that the broker on the phone is not the company driving the truck, or that personal items in the trunk are not covered by cargo insurance. None of that is complicated once somebody explains it. These are the explainers we send customers before they book, written to be useful whether or not you ship with us.
